The Isle of Man's national team will face the Liverpool County Premier League in the second round of the National League System Cup on Saturday.
Kevin Manning's side booked their place in the second round with an emphatic 3-0 away victory over the Midland Combination in September.
Manning told BBC Isle of Man: "It will be a tough challenge for us, against a very capable Liverpool side."
The Isle of Man defeated Liverpool on their way to the semi-finals in 2009.
Manning continued: "We've got some quality players in the squad and a good blend of youth and experience.
"If we give it 100% on Saturday, I'm confident we can progress."
The match will kick off at 1430 GMT at Liverpool County FA's Walton Hall Avenue ground.
In 2009 the Manx side reached the last four of the competition before losing out to the Midland Combination on penalties.
Manning will not name the squad until Wednesday.
