Rushen United battled to a vital three points in the Isle of Man Premier League on Saturday with a 2-1 victory over St Mary's at the Bowl.
First-half strikes from Michael Baker and Tom Craine put the southerners in control at half-time.
However, St Mary's looked a different team in the second-half and came out fighting, with Frank Jones pulling a goal back for the Douglas side.
The win keeps the southerners a point ahead of Peel who beat Michael 4-1.
Meanwhile, Laxey remain in the title race after a 1-0 away win at Ramsey.
The Miners are nine points adrift of Rushen with three games in hand.
At the other end of the table, Union Mills' dreadful season continued as they were thrashed 5-0 at St George's, to remain pointless.
Gymnasium beat St John's 3-1 at home and Old Boys completed a league double over Castletown.
