Top referee Howard Webb has offered some advice to Steve Tanner, who will take charge of next week's Muratti match between Guernsey and Jersey.
Webb, who is on the Premier League and Fifa list, officiated in the 2004 game.
"I would say to Steve to make sure he approaches the game in a fully prepared and professional manner and not to expect an easy ride," Webb said.
"Pride on the two islands is at stake and the players will be giving it their all," he added on BBC Radio Guernsey.
Webb, who was in Guernsey giving a talk to island referees, added that he might even speak to Tanner to make sure he knows what to expect.
"I might even give him a call actually, just to make sure he is fully prepared for what might happen," he said.
"The game in 2004 was a pretty straightforward affair but it had to be refereed properly, and I had to avoid the carrots that were on the field!"
