Guernsey were beaten 3-1 by a strong English Colleges side in their final warm-up match before next week's Muratti with Jersey.
Guernsey were 2-0 down at half-time and trailed 3-0 before Ross Allen pulled one back for the Sarnians midway through the second half.
But Guernsey boss Steve Ogier was not downhearted as many of the opposition play semi-professionally.
"The guys did well seeing as they almost do it for a living," Ogier said.
"One guy there plays in the Conference, one of them played in the Football Icon show at Chelsea and another has been signed by Stockport County.
"Most of them are attached or playing semi-pro football."
Ogier praised Guernsey's opponents' ball retention and fitness, but felt his side could have made the scoreline closer.
"We had two good chances to score before they took the lead," he said.
"Two of their goals were down to errors on our part."
It ended two games in four days for the Guernsey side as they prepare to take on big rivals Jersey at Springfield next Monday.
On Wednesday Guernsey drew 2-2 with a British Universities side in their first warm-up match.
Jersey beat an under-19s side from Scottish First Division club Alloa Athletic 4-0 in their warm-up match on Saturday.
