England women's captain Charlotte Edwards said she was disappointed at the manner in which her team lost the series to India. They were all out for 50 in front of 20,000 enthusiastic fans at Shilchar as India won by 10 wickets.
That left them 3-1 down with only one to play and Edwards said: "It was a big game and to go out on this note was very disappointing.
"There were 20,000 fans watching which made it even worse."
England only had 11 fit players after two were sent home with fractures and two others have been suffering from severe sickness.
"We have been depleted in the last couple of games so it has been really hard but that's not an excuse," said Edwards, who was out for a duck.
"It was a seamer-friendly pitch and we started at 9am so there was dew around as well. It was darting around all over the place.
"We tried as hard as we could but it was really difficult."
They play the final game of the tour at Eden Gardens in Calcutta on Friday and Edwards was looking for a rousing finale.
"We are aiming to show what we are worth in the final game as I think we deserve to win it for a 3-2 series scoreline."
