Injured Brunt out of women's tour

England seam bowler Katherine Brunt will play no further part on the tour to India after fracturing a bone in her left hand.

The 20-year-old suffered the injury while fielding on the second day of the Test match in Delhi.

She will be replaced by Nicki Shaw for the five one-day internationals which follow the Test.

"I was playing well and really looking forward to the one-day series. It's a huge blow for me," she said.

Brunt's hand has been immobilised in a cast to prevent any further damage.

"She has been a key performer for us on this tour and it will definitely be a loss to our bowling department.

"She's a very talented cricketer and will be missed on and off the field.

"The important thing now is for us to regroup and make sure we stay strong as a squad. We need to look forward to the remaining matches with a positive mind-set," coach Richard Bates commented.
