Nottinghamshire director of cricket Mick Newell says Adam Voges could return to Trent Bridge next summer. Australian David Hussey is under contract for 2009, but as was the case this summer, he may be unavailable due to international commitments. That could pave the way for fellow Aussie Voges to come back, and Newell told BBC Radio Nottingham: "He says he would be interested. "He's enjoyed his time here. I think he's done well for us." The 28-year-old has covered for Hussey's absence the early part of this summer, and extended his stay at Trent Bridge when Hussey was ordered to rest by Cricket Australia. However, Voges himself will head home in the middle of August. Notts are waiting for a decision on whether Indian batsman VVS Laxman will be able to cover for him during the last few weeks of the season. In the meantime, Newell wants Voges to help Notts to a challenging position in the County Championship: "His one-day cricket has been very, very good. His four-day cricket has been OK. "We are hoping that he can do something a bit special for us in his last month here."
