Alex Blake made his maiden first-class century at Headingley in September |
Young Kent left-hander Alex Blake has signed a new three-year deal with the county tying him to Canterbury until the end of the 2013 season. Blake, 22, made his first team breakthrough in 2010, playing the final six Championship games of the summer. "It is a further indication that the work of our coaches in developing young players is bringing results," said chairman of cricket Graham Johnson. "All in the county look forward to Alex having a long, successful Kent career." Blake made 331 runs in eight Championship games in 2010, peaking in the final game of the season with an unbeaten 105 that helped end Yorkshire's slim title hopes. He also impressed in a CB40 game against Scotland at Canterbury in May, winning the game with an unbeaten 81.
