Shaw made his first-team debut for Kent in 2010 |
Kent have handed four of their young players their first professional deals. Fast-bowler Ashley Shaw, 19, made his debut in 2010 and has signed a two-year deal alongside academy wicket-keeper Sam Billings, also 19. Off-spinner Adam Riley and batsman Chris Piesley, whose brother Richard also played for Kent, have each earned one-year deals. Coach Paul Farbrace said: "All four players have the potential to achieve a great deal." He added: "I am delighted that Ashley has committed his future to the club as I believe he has an exciting future ahead of him. "I'm looking forward to him being fully fit at the start of next season as I am sure that he can continue to show the promise that he did in his outings for the club in 2010. "I am also very pleased that the three youngsters have signed. This is a further sign of the hard work and commitment that our coaches put in to help young cricketers throughout the Kent pathway."
