Jersey rallied with a final day win over the visiting Italy in their Twenty20 match at Grainville on Friday. After the Italian side proved too strong for Jersey in their one-day clash on Thursday the Island side turned the tables winning by 36 runs. Jersey batted first making 173, captain Ryan Driver with 64 and Sam Dewhurst 51 with the bulk of the runs. In reply, Italy started well with opener Hayden Patrizi making an entertaining and quick fire 67.  | We set targets that we wanted to improve on today and we certainly met many of those targets |
His innings of 37 balls, including six fours and three sixes. However when Patrizi departed, the Italians could not keep up with the run rate, finishing on 137 for nine from their 20 overs. Jersey captain Ryan Driver was pleased with his young squads effort. "Although we lost yesterday, we set targets that we wanted to improve on today and we certainly met many of those targets," he told BBC Radio Jersey. "It's good to see what the young boys can do under pressure and it's great that the Italians have come over because we certainly need more games like this for Jersey."
