Savident's 102 not out helped Guernsey to their total of 224-4
Guernsey defeated Jersey by 21 runs in the annual inter-insular clash at the King George V ground on Saturday.
After winning the toss Guernsey batted first and made 224-4 from their 50 overs, opener Lee Savident starring with an unbeaten 102.
In reply, Jersey appeared to be cruising to victory at 117-0 as openers Dean Morrison (78) and Peter Gough (44) got them off to a flying start.
But once they were out, Jersey could only collapse to 203-8.
Savident, whose innings proved crucial to Guernsey's success, said: "I'm satisfied but I'm more satisfied that we actually won the game - that's the main thing.
"The lads have played well, they've bowled and fielded brilliantly.
"It was a very hard wicket. You knew they were likely to get a partnership but as long as you broke the partnership it was very hard for a new batsman to come in and score from ball one."
Despondent Jersey captain Ryan Driver told BBC Radio Jersey: "We got off to a great start with Dean and Pete, but lost them in quick succession and then could never get going.
"Guernsey bowled very well in the middle and at the death, credit to them."
Both sides now play Italy in a series of friendly matches this week in Jersey.
