Le Prevost is happy with the 14-man squad that Guernsey have named
Guernsey captain Stuart Le Prevost has his sights set on winning the World Cricket League Division Six tournament in Singapore starting this August.
Le Prevost made the statement as the team, which includes former county players Lee Savident and Jeremy Frith, was announced.
"We don't go into these tournaments hoping to finish mid-table and perhaps stay in the same division," he said.
"We're going for it, we're going there to win the tournament."
Le Prevost is realistic: "I'm sure most of the other teams think that way as well but there is absolutely no question that we are going there to get promotion."
The team selection was done by Le Prevost, manager Dave Hearse and coach Andy Cornaford and the captain said: "Everyone in the squad is capable of winning a game.
"It is difficult and unfortunately people are going to be disappointed [at being left out], but we're really pleased with what we've come out with."
The two new names in the side are batter GH Smit, who missed the Division Seven tournament, and all-rounder James Warr.
"I think it's a stronger squad than we had possibly in May, we've got a couple of different faces, we're missing a couple also but on the whole I think we've got a really good squad so I'm just looking forward to getting there now," he added.
