Alderney lost to the hosts in the semi-finals of an international cricket competition in Carmel in North Wales.

Carmel won by eight wickets reaching their target of 64 in 10.3 overs.

In their international debut Alderney beat Croatia and Bulgaria to make the last four and won a trophy for their team spirit and good sporting nature.

Captain Paul Fairclough said, "It was great to have the opportunity to play against these teams, it was exciting but also nerve racking."
