Guernsey finished fifth in the Under-15 tournament |
Guernsey's young cricketers learnt a lot as they finished fifth in the ICC European Under-15 Championships held in Dundee, Scotland. The young Sarnians took on the hosts, Ireland, Netherlands, Denmark and Jersey, coming out with one win. Guernsey manager Ian Damarell said, "It was useful, but a little frustrating as I don't think we played up to our full potential at times." "But I think the boys have learned quite a bit." Damarell said plans to restructure the leagues to elevate the nations are up in the air following Jersey's victory over Ireland and Scotland. "Results in the last week show there are teams amongst the other four who are capable of beating Scotland and Ireland," he said.
