 Jennings topped the bill |
Guernsey boxer Matt Jennings put his recent troubles behind him by winning the deciding bout to take victory over the Western Counties at the weekend. In a fierce battle over three rounds he beat Lithuanian Valentin Bumbul by unanimous decision. Jennings' victory gave the Amalgamated Boys Club a 5-4 overall win over the visitors. It was Jennings' first bout after a suspension for being in possession of recreational drugs. Daniel Kirk and Adam Baker had earlier put points on the board for the Channel Island boxers. Alderney's Chris Sumner stepped in to defeat an opponent who had been lined up to face Gage Demore, after Demore was deemed to be too strong an opponent. Guernsey's James Woolnough got revenge on Mike Freeman, who beat him at their last meeting.
