Jennings was convicted of possession of class A and B drugs |
Convicted Guernsey boxer Matt Jennings has been suspended from the sport until the new year. Jennings was found guilty of possession of class A and B drugs in October. The Western Counties Amateur Boxing Association disciplinary panel decided last week that his suspension from boxing should run until 1 January 2010. The cruiserweight passed a recent drugs test and is expected to undergo further random tests during and after his suspension has concluded. In November Jennings vowed to rebuild his reputation and pledged to work hard during the months ahead. Although he is not allowed to train at the Amalgamated Boys Club he is said to be keeping fit at a local gym and is expected to fight at the next dinner boxing event due to take place in February. Jennings topped the bill when Guernsey fought County Tyrone in October, winning the deciding bout of the night.
