Guernsey will stage its first ever women's boxing match

Guernsey's first ever women's boxing match will be staged on the Open night on 24 October.

Head coach at the Guernsey Amalgamated Boys Boxing Club Graham Guilbert said, "I hope to have two of our top girls there, at least.

"For the last 8 weeks we had between 18-23 girls training - we've got six ladies who want to box.

"They're not as powerful but girls seem to pick up things, combinations and that better than men," he said.
