Cox wants title fight with Brook

Jamie Cox
Swindon southpaw Cox is desperate to fight for his first professional title

Swindon boxer Jamie Cox has again set his sights on a fight with British welterweight champion Kell Brook.

Commonwealth gold medallist Cox maintained his perfect record as a professional with a points victory over Janos Petrovics on Friday.

After his 12th straight win, Cox now believes he can beat Brook.

"I'm stronger than Kell," he told BBC Wiltshire. "I've got a better boxing brain; if he's Special Kell then I'm the Honey Monster!"

Despite the win over former Hungarian Olympian Petrovics, Cox was upset with his performance in front of the hometown fans in Swindon.

"I had a game plan and I just got carried away and didn't execute it the way I should have.

"(But) it was great to get eight rounds under my belt and use my boxing skills."
