Swindon welterweight Jamie Cox maintained his unbeaten professional record on Friday night with a fifth-round stoppage of Billy Smith. The 2006 Commonwealth Games gold medallist made it eight wins from eight in front of a hometown crowd of more than 1,500 at the Oasis Leisure Centre. It was the second time Cox and Smith had fought in the last six months. Cox, 22, beat his opponent on points in a six-round bout at the NIA in Birmingham in June. It was the first major professional boxing show in Swindon for more than 15 years.
