Wilson currently has just one fit senior striker at Swindon
Swindon manager Danny Wilson says a striker due to start a trial period at the club this week is a 'hot property' who could be just what the club needs.
The Town boss was tight-lipped about the forward's identity, but he is an African playing in eastern Europe.
Wilson told BBC Wiltshire he is excited about the striker spending a week at the County Ground.
"He's quite a hot property at the moment, we're hoping we can do something when he comes over," he said.
Swindon chairman Andrew Fitton revealed the club have had an eye on the player for some time now.
"He's someone we've been tracking for a few weeks," said Fitton. "We had to wait for the club he is at to agree a deal that everyone can live with."
The striker will not be able to play in any of Swindon's pre-season games because he is still contracted to another club.
The Town have been searching for a striker throughout the summer, particularly since the sale of top-scorer Simon Cox to West Brom last month.
"Danny has said 'let's be patient and find our man even if he arrives very late'," added Fitton. "We've come close to saying 'yes' and then decided someone still was not the right man."
Another forward, Berlin Ndebe-Nlome, is likely to be handed a second chance to impress after coming on as a substitute in Saturday's 0-0 draw with Cardiff at the County Ground.
