Kitchen extended her two-and-a-half year unbeaten record on Sunday |
Penzance Thai boxer Julie Kitchen has won a fifth ISKA world title after stopping her opponent in the first round of the final on Sunday. The 31-year-old struck a solid knee to Portuguese opponent Ivanilda Vaz Te. "She was feeling really strong but I managed to get her with a knee which caught her just right," Kitchen told BBC Radio Cornwall. Kitchen will now take some rest before getting ready for a busy 2009. "I'm feeling a little bit tired and little bit drained," she said.
"I was coming down with a chest infection so I think it's all coming down on me now." She is set to fight in Jamaica and Las Vegas next year as she aims to continue her record as one of the best female Thai boxers in the world.
