Sport plan to stop youth trouble
World Kickboxing Champion Julie Kitchen and school pupils
Police say sports initiatives have helped reduce crime in other areas
A boxing demonstration has been held as part of Cornish police efforts to draw young people away from anti-social behaviour and into sport.

World kickboxing champion Julie Kitchen of Penzance was brought in to give tips on the sport at the demonstration at St Ives Comprehensive School.

Organiser Sgt Mike Friday hopes to set up a regular boxing club.

He said most local teenagers blamed problem behaviour on boredom and a lack of youth facilities in St Ives.
