Bradley Pryce showed his class against Anthony Small |
Bradley Pryce has been rewarded with a place on Joe Calzaghe's undercard after a fine defence of his Commonwealth light middleweight title on Saturday The Welshman produced a seventh-round stoppage of the previously unbeaten Anthony Small at London's O2 Arena.
Pryce is now booked on Calzaghe's unification bout with Mikkel Kessler at the Millennium Stadium on 3 November.
"My promoter Frank Warren told me to get prepared for the November bill - Joe's fight in Cardiff," Pryce said.
Like the WBO super middleweight champion, Pryce hails from Newbridge and is part of the stable of fighters run by Calzaghe's father, Enzo, that also includes WBO cruiserweight belt holder Enzo Maccarinelli.

Calzaghe's showdown with WBC and WBA holder Kessler could attract as many as 60,000 fans to Wales' national stadium in Cardiff.
Pryce, 26, is excited by the prospect of stepping out on that undercard and is hopeful of drawing a quality opponent.
"No names have been mentioned but I'm hopeful, maybe Wayne Alexander or maybe for a big title," Pryce added.
"I would like to fight for maybe the WBO or one of the other major titles and as it's four months away you never know. Anything's possible.
"Frank's good at getting fights and I'm sure he can get me a big fight for that show."
The WBO champion is Ukrainian southpaw Sergiy Dzinziruk, although a domestic match-up with Alexander is more likely.
The Tooting-born 33-year-old, who now trains in Belfast under John Breen, has held the WBO, WBU and European titles.
Alexander is also promoted by Warren and a match-up should be relatively straight-forward to make, especially given the win over Small, 25, who had been unbeaten in 17 fights prior to Saturday.
Pryce weathered an early storm against his cocksure opponent before turning the tables and stopping the Deptford man in the seventh with a barrage of punches.
"After that performance there can be only good things for me now," Pryce said.
"I was seen as a bit of an underdog going into the fight, but I showed them what I'm all about.
"There's plenty of time for me to prepare and get in even better shape for November."
