Pryce claims Commonwealth title
Bradley Pryce
Pryce has won 21 of his 27 professional fights
Newbridge's Bradley Pryce took a unanimous decision over Ghana's Ossie Duran to claim the Commonwealth light middleweight title in Newport.

Despite being cut in the third, the 24-year-old prevailed by scores of 118-112 116-113 and 115-114.

Gary Lockett claimed the vacant WBU middleweight title with a first-round stoppage of Gilbert Eastman.

Londoner Eastman was a late replacement for former British light middleweight champion Ryan Rhodes.

On the undercard, Newbridge's Gavin Rees made an impressive return to action with a fifth-round stoppage of the experienced Daniel Thorpe.

The 25-year-old has served a one-year ring suspension and has not fought since September 2004.

Now campaigning at lightweight, Rees has a 100% record from 23 professional fights.

Welsh prospect Barrie Jones stopped Terry Carruthers in just 90 seconds.
