Loundes has won both rounds of the Cross Country League |
The Isle of Man Cross Country Championships will be held at Crossags Farm near Ramsey on Sunday, 23 January. The event will also be classed as the third round of the Manx Gas Cross Country League after the previous round was cancelled. Organiser Andy Fox said: "It is the highlight of the cross country season and we are expecting some great races." To complete the Manx Gas Challenge league, athletes will now need to complete three out of four races. Kevin Loundes currently leads the series after winning both the opening rounds . Fox added: "The championships will count as one event, in terms of points and not double as was previously planned." There are two events left in the 2010/11 league and so still plenty of opportunity for athletes to complete the league. The final race of the season will be held on Sunday, 13 February is at Ballannette, Lonan.
