Druce said he hoped to do himself justice at the Commonwealth Games in October |
Guernsey athlete Tom Druce is confident about his prospects for the Commonwealth Games following his recovery from a hamstring injury. The 400m specialist was injured competing in the recent British Athletics League event at Footes Lane. But Druce has been making good progress from the hamstring tear, which was now merely scar tissue. He said: "I've still got to be careful, if I get a setback now then that will really put me in a bit of trouble." Druce said: "I'm amazed that the injury has improved this much. "I still feel pretty unfortunate with the timing, but there is much more reason to be positive now. "Hopefully I can get some sprint training in before we go to Delhi and have a chance of doing myself justice at the Commonwealth Games."
