 Druce has a season's best of 47.43 in the 400m |
Guernsey 400m runner Tom Druce is concerned his latest injury will impact on his chances at the Commonwealth Games in Delhi during October. Druce suffered a hamstring injury whilst racing for the Channel Islands at Footes Lane on Saturday. He told BBC Guernsey: "It's a big blow to be honest as I was just running into some form and training quite well. "I think I'll be at the Commonwealths no problem, but I don't think I'm going to run particularly well there now." He added: "I'd warmed up and there were no problems and then I came out of the blocks and started pretty well and the hamstring just went pop in my left leg which was quite painful." Despite losing Druce to injury, the Channel Islands men's team won promotion to British Athletics League Division Three after beating Glasgow City at Footes Lanes to secure second place in Division Four.
