Watson won the 2009 US Junior Open title

Heather Watson has been knocked out of the first qualifying round for the US Open by Lourdes Dominguez Lino.

Watson, 18, made a strong start in the match against her Spanish opponent, taking the first set 6-2.

Dominguez Lino then proceeded to fight back against the Sarnian in the second set, taking it 6-4.

In the third set decider, 29-year-old Dominguez Lino continued to overpower her teenage opponent, eventually winning it 6-3.
