Watson played through the abdominal tear at Wimbledon

Guernsey teenager Heather Watson is back in action on Tuesday after a spell out with injury.

The 18-year-old played at Wimbledon despite an abdominal tear, but has now recovered and returns in a $25,000 hard-court tournament in Wrexham.

She starts as one of the favourites in the relatively low-profile event.

Watson's father Ian said the tear has healed after 10 days' rest and she was much fitter than when she played at Wimbledon last month.
