Heather Watson, the US Open girls' champion, becomes the sixth and final British woman to crash out of the first round at Wimbledon this year.

That completes an unwanted record, as it is the first time six British women all fail to reach the second round. Watson, 18, shows some promise but still goes down 6-4 1-6 6-3 to Italian qualifier Romina Sarina Oprandi.
