The Channel Islands men's athletics team have won promotion to British Athletics League Division Three after beating Glasgow City on Saturday. The final Division Four meet was held in Guernsey and the Islands beat the league leaders to secure second place. Coach Andrew Winnie said: "They did what they had to. They pulled out all the stops." "We had a fair idea we'd get promoted but to actually win the last match is a nice feeling for next year." He added: "We've got to get better every year and the young athletes coming through are starting to say, well I got a personal best today, but I didn't win so I've got to get a little bit better."
