Alice Loveridge reflects on Singapore Youth Olympics

Loveridge came 17th overall in the singles in Singapore

Alice Loveridge, Great Britain's only table tennis representative in the Youth Olympics, has described the event as an "incredible experience".

The 16-year-old, from Guernsey, finished 17th in the singles and mixed teams events in Singapore.

Loveridge said: "The whole experience was incredible.

"The opening ceremony was the highlight, walking out with the Great Britain team in front of 20,000 people was just incredible."

She added: "I had a tough draw, I had a girl from Singapore who got to the final and a Japanese girl who got to the semi-final.

"I managed to beat the other girl in my group who was playing for New Zealand.

"I think I won against the people I should have and a few more as well so I'm pleased with how I did."

Loveridge will now focus on her preparation for the Commonwealth Games in Delhi in October.
