Loveridge came 17th overall in the singles in Singapore |
Alice Loveridge, Great Britain's only table tennis representative in the Youth Olympics, has described the event as an "incredible experience". The 16-year-old, from Guernsey, finished 17th in the singles and mixed teams events in Singapore. Loveridge said: "The whole experience was incredible. "The opening ceremony was the highlight, walking out with the Great Britain team in front of 20,000 people was just incredible." She added: "I had a tough draw, I had a girl from Singapore who got to the final and a Japanese girl who got to the semi-final. "I managed to beat the other girl in my group who was playing for New Zealand. "I think I won against the people I should have and a few more as well so I'm pleased with how I did." Loveridge will now focus on her preparation for the Commonwealth Games in Delhi in October.
