Head was instrumental in organising the island's marathon in 2009

The race director of the Guernsey Marathon is setting himself his own personal marathon challenge.

Peter Head is planning to complete six different marathons around the world during 2010.

He hopes to run in Paris, London, Edinburgh, Guernsey, Dublin and New York to raise money for charities Headway Guernsey and Get Kids Going.

Head, who has officially run 35 marathons, regularly runs up to 27 or 28 miles during training.
