Marathon attracts 200 competitors

About 200 runners have pounded the streets of Guernsey in a revived marathon race.

It was the first marathon in Guernsey for 17 years and will raise money for local charities, Headway, Hope For Guernsey and the Mines Awareness Trust.

About 200 runners set off from Footes Lane, which was closed to traffic.

Guernsey police asked drivers to be patient. There were extra officers at busy junctions to help ease any congestion.
