Marathon to bring traffic delays

Drivers are being warned about traffic problems as a result of the Guernsey Marathon on Sunday.

Police say they are hoping to keep any disruption to a minimum.

But motorists are being asked to be patient because some traffic will be held back for the safety of the runners.

Footes Lane will be closed to all traffic from 0600 to 1800 on the day of the marathon, which is the first in Guernsey for 17 years.

The event will raise money for three local charities, Headway, Hope For Guernsey and the Mines Awareness Trust.
