Simon Skillicorn strode to his fifth victory of the Manx fell running season in torrential rain and high winds at Creg ny Baa on Sunday. Despite limited visibility, Skillicorn navigated the gruelling 10-mile course in one hour 24 minutes and 23 seconds. Nigel Armstrong claimed second spot some two-and-a-half minutes behind Skillicorn with Ian Gale completing the top three. Meanwhile Sarah Curphey continued to impress taking the ladies title. Curphey who has been a revelation this season came home seventh overall. The penultimate round of the fell running league takes place on Sunday, 6 September at 1000 BST in the Ellan Vannin race which starts at Ballaugh Plantation car park.
