Skillicorn takes Carraghan race

Simon Skillicorn won the latest round of the Manx Fell Running League at Carraghan on Tuesday evening.

Skillicorn made his break near the summit and kept on to his lead on the descent finishing 48 seconds clear of Tom Cringle.

Peter Bradley managed to hold off Ian Gale to claim third place.

Sarah Curphey continued her winning streak on the fells, claiming first in the ladies category and 17th overall.

Rose Hooten was second with Lorraine Stigant third.

The 2.5 mile route from the bottom of Injebreck plantation to Carraghan summit and back takes in a 1100 feet of ascent.
