Pete Sampras and Andre Agassi are among those who have already singled out Roddick as the future of American and world tennis. The 19-year-old, known as A-Rod, has already blasted away both men among other high-profile players with his brash, attacking style of play. He regularly clocks serves around the 140 mph mark and is a heavy hitter from the back of the court on both his forehand and backhand. Roddick has already collected two titles this year - in Memphis and Houston - and the question surely is when, and not if, he will win a Grand Slam event. The former world number one junior reached the third round last year before running into an inspired Goran Ivanisevic - the Nebraskan is likely to go much further this year. |
