This season Hann became the first Australian to win a place in the world's top 16 since Eddie Charlton in the late eighties. But unlike "Steady Eddie", Hann courts controversy like no other present player on the circuit.
At The Crucible 12 months ago, former World Champion and BBC commentator Dennis Taylor branded his conduct "ungentlemenly" after he crashed the cue ball into the pack of reds a number of times.
But the Australian is also a fine snooker player and one of the best young talents around.
He reached five quarter-finals last season and made it through to the second round of the World Championship.
In doing so he was the only player from outside the British Isles to last until the second week of the tournament.
This season Hann's best performance came in Dublin at the Irish Masters, where he reached the quarter-finals before falling to the in-form Dave Harold.
He is based in Melbourne and frequently commutes from Australia to the United Kingdom to play.
