Perry finds himself in the top 16 for the first time in his 11-year career. He reached the final of a ranking event for the first time last season, the European Open, where he was beaten by Stephen Hendry.
And he continued the good run of form by getting through to the last 16 of the World Championship.
He lost to the eventual champion Peter Ebdon, having beaten 10th seed Joe Swail in the first round.
The achievement matched his efforts from three years earlier when he beat Steve Davis 10-9 before falling to Ronnie O'Sullivan.
Perry, a big Arsenal fan, has not found making an impact on the circuit this year as easy as last.
He has yet to progress beyond the second round of a tournament, but has so far maintained his provisional ranking.
The fact that Perry was knocked out in the first-round of this year's World Championship puts his top-16 status for next season in serious jeopardy
