Jason Kenny, 20, from Bolton Kenny went to Beijing as a relative unknown, and left with the potential to be the next Chris Hoy - four years ahead of schedule. A triple junior world champion sprinter two years ago, Kenny won gold in the team sprint and was only beaten into the silver medal place by the mighty Hoy in the individual sprint. "Kenny has come through the ranks and he is the man who will win at London 2012," said Hoy afterwards. "Beating him was really tough - it was probably the hardest race of my life." Kenny will again be riding the two sprint events at the Manchester World Cup, as well as an invitational keiren event involving several top Japanese stars, with a 10,000 prize for the winner.
