David Daniell, 18, from Middlesbrough Daniell has two world junior team sprint titles to his name and has set his sights on a gold medal in one of the individual events at London 2012. He faces opposition from Olympic silver-medallist Kenny, among others, in the individual sprint in Manchester and also competes in the 1km time trial. Daniell, who was on the shortlist for the BBC's Young Sports Personality of the Year in 2006, got into cycling when the British Cycling Go-Ride scheme visited his school and one of the scouts spotted his potential.
