Hole 6 at Royal St George's
172 yards, par three

Ken Brown
By Ken Brown
BBC TV golf commentator

The new tee on this hole gives a slightly different angle to the green which makes the visibility to the flag slightly easier.

A short iron is needed to reach this well bunkered green. There's a ridge that runs through the middle of the green, the pin's either at the front of it or beyond.

What's required here is a high soft-landing fade-shot with a bit of left to right.

There's quite a generous putting surface on offer which is divided into two areas.

The big danger awaiting competitors are the four deep-pot bunkers around the green, and if you find one, it would be very difficult to get there in three, never mind two.
