David Beckham has played in three World Cup finals for England - in 1998, 2002 and 2006.
Beckham, who made his international debut in 1996, was made England captain in 2000 and led his country on 58 occasions.
He stood down as England captain after the 2006 World Cup and was dropped by new manager Steve McClaren but vowed to play on.
The midfielder was recalled late in England's Euro 2008 qualifying campaign but could not rescue McClaren, who was sacked after his side lost to Croatia and missed out on a place at the finals in Austria and Switzerland.
