  • 27.9% (971,911) have occasionally taken part (-0.5% of national average)
  • 51.3% (1,786,715) have not taken part in active recreation (+0.7% of national average)

  • 23.1% of men exercised regularly while 18.5% of women do so. 19.3% from black and ethnic minorities take part in physical activity which is slightly lower than those from white origins (20.9%).
  • Rutland is the most active borough with 27.4% of people engaged in regular exercise, while Boston was the least active with 14.3%, the lowest in the country
