  • 30.5% (2,009,446) have occasionally taken part (+2.1% of national average)
  • 46.9% have not taken part in active recreation (-3.7% of national average)

  • A quarter of men participate in regular physical activity compared to 20.3% of women. The difference between those exercising from black and ethnic minorities and those of white origins is only 1.5%.
  • Hart is the most active local authority with 27.9% of people engaged in regular exercise, while Hastings was the least active with 16.7%.
