Harry Chapman's goal was the difference as Gateshead clinched a National League win over Aldershot and extend their unbeaten run to five matches.

The midfielder put the Heed in front after slotting the ball into the bottom corner.

Adam Desbois made two saves from Ryheem Sheckleford and Ryan Hill as the Shots searched for an equaliser, but Chapman came close again in the second half when his strike was blocked on the line.

Aldershot had an opportunity when Callum Stewart hit the bar, and Desbois then made another save from Theo Widdrington at the death.
