York moved top of the National League table after coming from a goal down to win at struggling Sutton.
The hosts took a surprise eighth-minute lead when Lewis Simper's corner was flicked on by Hayden Muller and finished by Will Tizzard.
But they were pegged back before the half-hour from a York set-piece.
After Sutton only managed to half clear a corner in the 25th minute, Hiram Boateng drilled a low shot beyond goalkeeper Jack Sims.
Ollie Pearce then had the final say three minutes into the second half, firing in at the back post from Daniel Batty's teasing delivery, as York leapfrogged Carlisle to top spot on goal difference, with both teams on 55 points.
Despite the defeat, Sutton moved out of the bottom four on goal difference thanks to Aldershot being thrashed 5-1 at home by Solihull.
