Granny Frannie

Despite all evidence to the contrary, Granny Frannie was ever hopeful her grandson Colin would learn to speak her native tongue and would send him endless launguage learning gifts, each more disappointing than the last to Colin, who'd be hoping for a new pair of trainers or the latest electronic video game.

However, her zest for passing on the language found an outlet in her beloved Cumberland, though she never let on she had a talking dog in case anyone thought she was senile and whisked her away.

A woman of dubious taste, she nevertheless knew what she liked, and what she liked was pink and frilly and mainly falling to bits. 'Careful' with money and distrustful of banks, Granny Frannie hoarded her worldly wealth, finally burying it in the cellar and unfortunately dying in strange circumstances before she was able to reveal its whereabouts to Colin.
