Event 29.
Free Thinking Debate: Is There a Future for Men?

- Sunday 25 October
- 3.15pm - 4.15pm
- The Sage Gateshead, Northern Rock Foundation Hall
Is the 21st century a hostile environment for men? The jobs that defined them are disappearing, the opposite sex trounces them in exams, and there's speculation that we won't even need them for reproduction in the future.
Have men failed to move with the times - or does modern society undermine them at its peril?
Richard Moss of the BBC's Politics Show hosts a debate with founder of Kids Company and social campaigner Camila Batmanghelidjh, writer and journalist Beatrix Campbell, Assistant Bishop of Newcastle Paul Richardson and Roger Olley of Children North-East as they argue over the place of men in today's and tomorrow's world.
This event will be broadcast in Radio 3's Night Waves on Thursday 3rd December at 9.15pm.
